On October 9, 2024, a conference was held in celebration of World Egg Day at the Conference Center of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB). This day is recognized as an opportunity to promote egg consumption and raise awareness about its benefits globally. During the conference, Dr. Mohammad Ebrahim Hassan Nejad, Deputy for Livestock Affairs at the Ministry of Agriculture, emphasized the importance of egg production in the country and announced that it is projected that egg production in Iran will reach 1 million and 350 thousand tons by the end of the current year. This increase in production signifies the strategic importance of eggs in providing sustainable protein and promoting healthy nutrition within the community.

In this conference, special emphasis was placed on eggs as a complete and nutritious food source, with this year’s slogan, “Every healthy individual should consume one egg a day,” introduced as a goal to promote the correct and optimal consumption of this nutrient. Existing statistics show that the per capita consumption of eggs in Iran, at around 230 eggs per year, is higher than the global average, highlighting the importance of this food item in the dietary habits of Iranians.

At this ceremony, Seamorgh, under the management of Engineer Ali Taghvaifar, was recognized as the national exemplar in the breeding of laying hen parents and proudly received a certificate of appreciation.
